What about after breakfast?
Pen Mar Bed and Breakfast Guest House is ideally placed whether on foot or in the car. If you take a left out of the Guest House and walk to the end of the railings then you will see a left turn down to Waterwynch Bay. The Bay itself is stunning and well worth a visit we can guarantee you will want to buy the Lodge on the bay! From the Bay you can see Tenby and Tenby Harbour and the whole of Carmarthen Bay.
On the way to Waterwynch Bay you will see two signs with little acorns on these are the signs to join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. The left path takes you to Saundersfoot. It is fair to say that the route this way is challenging and will take at least an hour and a half but the scenery is stunning. On the right path the walk to Tenby is not as hard and will take about an hour.
If you are looking for a much shorter walk to Tenby then just leave the Guest House and go left again and take the first road on the left after the turn for Waterwynch Bay. This route takes about 20 minutes – it is a lovely walk and brings you right out at North Beach in Tenby.
To get to Saundersfoot you leave the Guest House and turn right and right again through New Hedges. You will pass the local shop where you can get all sorts of provisions for your day of exploring Tenby and Saundersfoot. As you pass the shop you will see the New Hedges Tavern which is open in the season and does reasonably priced good meals from about 6pm most evenings.
Once you reach the top of the road you will see the sign to Saundersfoot – the walk takes about half an hour and you can either walk on the road into the village or drop down onto the beach and walk round to Saundersfoot Harbour.
